Avinash Varna, an ECE Ph.D. student advised by Prof. Min Wu, was chosen as the winner of the Clark School Litton Industries Fellowship. The award, worth $11,075, was established by Litton Industries to support outstanding full-time graduate students in pursuit of a doctorate degree in either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering who are committed to a teaching career in engineering education.

Avinash's research interests are in the broad area of signal and image processing, information forensics and security. His recent research projects include "Modeling and Analysis of Fingerprinting and Content Identification" and "Collusion-resistant Fingerprinting for Compressed Multimedia."
