Alireza Khaligh is PI for new transportation electrification REU siteAssistant Professor Alireza Khaligh (ECE/ISR) is the principal investigator for a new National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) site, "Research Experiences in Transportation Electrification." The three-year, $355K program will bring talented undergraduates to the University of Maryland to gain basic research and laboratory experience in transportation electrification-related engineering projects. It will focus on sustainable transportation systems, particularly in power electronics, energy storage (battery, ultracapacitor and fuel cell), optimization and mathematical modeling of grid-integrated vehicles, and sustainable transportation. The program will begin in summer 2013. About the NSF REU Program
