Baker to Receive System Staff Award

The University System of Maryland (USM) will recognize Pat Baker, program management specialist in the Clark School's Department of Fire Protection Engineering, with a 2011-2012 USM Board of Regents Staff Award for Outstanding Service to Students. She is the only recipient of this award on the College Park campus this year.

The awards recognize staff members who have made exceptional contributions to their organizations, students and the university community.

Award winners are selected based on nominations and letters of support from colleagues, culminating in a formal recommendation from the Council of University System Staff, which provides non-faculty USM employees with a voice in system governance.

Baker will receive the award at a ceremony on September 28 during the next Board of Regents meeting. She has worked for nearly 34 years on the College Park campus, almost all of it at the Clark School. She is a previous recipient of the Clark School's award for outstanding staff service.
