Inaugural L-3 Scholarship Winners Announced

Clark School Corporate Partner Company L-3 Communications has named its 2010-2011 undergraduate scholarship recipients.

The recipients of L-3 Communications Corporation Scholarships (worth $4,150) are:

  • Li Peng Liang (Aero)
  • Elena Shrestha (Aero)
  • Rebecca Baier (Electrical)
  • John Garvey (Electrical)
  • Pedro Peña (Electrical)
  • Eric Epstein (Materials Science)
  • Gregory Barr (Mechanical)
  • Jessica Lieberman (Mechanical)

The recipients of L-3 Corporate Partner Scholarships (worth $1,000) are:

  • Harrison Chau (Aero/Economics)
  • Prateek Kukreja (Electrical)
  • Andrew Sabelhaus (Mechanical)
  • Danica Gordon (Mechanical)
  • Saara Khan (Electrical)

L-3 pledged $1 million to the Clark School over three years, benefiting students in many ways. The gift established L-3 Graduate Research Fellowships and other scholarships and supports diversity programs, student organizations, competitions and the Clark School Corporate Partners Program.

The funds also support undergraduate research grants through the Women in Engineering Program and the Center for Minorities in Science and Engineering, along with student teams like TerpsRacing and Robotics@Maryland.
