EGSC Named Best Group Council

The Clark School's Engineering Graduate Student Council (EGSC) has been recognized by the University of Maryland Student Government Association as the best group council on campus.

The EGSC received the honor for its programming including the Graduate Career Day, held earlier this year, which featured several panels of alumni in industry. The event was developed to provide networking opportunities for current graduate students and to foster relationships with Clark School alumni. The Clark School's Maryland Technology Enterprise Institute and Alumni Chapter Board were partners in the event.

Other recent events held by the EGSC include a town hall meeting with Dean Pines, an end-of-semester bash and an online orientation question-and-answer session for incoming students. The orientation session included a presentation on housing, funding, transportation, and other essentials, and a virtual tour of campus. More than 230 questions from incoming students were answered during the session.

Upcoming events include more mentoring and networking events with Clark School alumni. EGSC President Susmit Panjwani said that the EGSC is planning more events geared towards prospective students as well.
