Qualcomm Supports ECE Centennial

Qualcomm has made a Centennial Partner level sponsorship gift of $15,000 to support the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Centennial Celebration, scheduled for September 26-27, 2008. With their gift, Qualcomm has also become a member of the ECE Corporate Affiliates program.

"We are most grateful to receive Qualcomm's support for our Centennial," said Prof. Patrick O'Shea, chair of ECE. "We are delighted to have our friends at Qualcomm join us in celebrating 100 years of electrical engineering at Maryland, and we look forward to strengthening our partnership through the Corporate Affiliates program."

ECE Centennial Weekend will include an alumni reception on the evening of Friday, September 26; a luncheon and pair of daytime forum events featuring experts from across the country speaking about "The Future of Information Systems and Communications" and "The Future of Energy" on Saturday, September 27; and a dinner and gala event on Saturday evening that will include a talk by inventor Dean Kamen. For more information about the Centennial Celebration, please visit the ECE Centennial website.
