Ahmet Aydilek, assistant professor of civil engineering, has been selected as the 2006 recipient of the prestigious Arthur Casagrande Professional Development Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). The award honors his contributions to the area of image-based evaluation of geomaterials, geoenvironmental engineering dealing with flow through porous media, and remediation of contaminated soils.

The Casagrande Award is the highest ASCE research award given to a junior researcher in the area of geotechnical engineering.
