S. Raghu Raghavan Named INFORMS Fellow

S. Raghu Raghavan, Dean’s Professor of Management Science and Operations Management at the Smith School of Business and a joint faculty member in the Institute for Systems Research, has been named a 2025 Fellow of INFORMS, the leading international association for operations research, analytics, and AI professionals.

Each year, INFORMS recognizes just 12 leaders whose extraordinary contributions have advanced research, education, and practice across sectors. Raghavan was selected for his impactful work applying operations research methods to network design and optimization, auction design, data mining, and healthcare, as well as for his excellence in teaching and sustained service to the profession.

The Fellows Class of 2025 includes distinguished academics and industry leaders whose innovations span artificial intelligence, healthcare delivery, transportation, supply chains, and more. This honor is the highest professional recognition in his field.

Raghavan is a proud TERP, starting his 28th year at Maryland. He says, “I am very fortunate to have been affiliated with ISR since I joined the University of Maryland in 1998, and as a joint appointee since 2006. ISR provides a hospitable and productive environment supporting my interdisciplinary research.”

Raghavan joins a growing number of ISR faculty who have been recognized as Fellows by leading professional societies. His election underscores ISR’s leadership in operations research, decision science, and interdisciplinary systems engineering.
