From Fire Engines to Fire Protection Engineering
Story By Maryland Today Staff Instead of returning to a residence hall or an off-campus apartment to crack the books or get some sleep, Elliot Paisner '25 calls a Prince George’s County fire station home. The fourth-generation firefighter feels a strong call to public service and has been protecting county residents throughout his studies as a fire protection engineering major in the University of Maryland’s A. James Clark School of Engineering. “It can be very scary at times, but you get that feeling you’ll be able to provide support and help to them,” Paisner said. Join him as he maintains equipment around the Laurel Volunteer Rescue Squad station (he’s moved to a job at the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department Station 810 since filming) and rolls out on emergency calls in this latest installment in our “Peer Review” video series.
