UMD Welcomes A. James Clark Scholars Class of '26

The A. James Clark School of Engineering at the University of Maryland welcomes 11 exceptional young engineers from across the state of Maryland as its newest class of A. James Clark Scholars.

The students selected for this highly distinguished program represent some of the most promising scholars among Maryland Engineering's first-year class.

The A. James Clark Scholars Program, a signature A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation initiative, supports high-performing undergraduate engineering students with financial need. Clark Scholars participate in specialized academic programs along with leadership, business, and project management training. A hallmark of UMD's Clark Scholars Program is that students will additionally commit to focusing part of their studies on one of the National Academy of Engineering’s Grand Challenges. UMD’s Clark Scholars will confront these challenges with a multidisciplinary, socially aware, and entrepreneurial background and will earn a transcript notation upon completing the program.

The UMD Clark Scholars Program is made possible by Building Together: An Investment for Maryland.
