Seven UMD Engineers Recognized as Highly Cited Researchers


Seven researchers at the University of Maryland’s A. James Clark School of Engineering have been named to the list of 2020 Highly Cited Researchers from Clarivate.

Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers have demonstrated significant and broad influence in their chosen field(s) through the publication of multiple papers frequently cited by their peers over the last decade. Their names are drawn from the publications that rank in the top 1 percent by citations for field and publication year in the Web of Science citation index.

“Maryland’s engineering faculty share a mission: produce solutions to society’s most pressing challenges, and share those solutions for everyone’s benefit. We’re honored that so many people recognize the importance of and use that work,” said Robert Briber, interim dean of the Clark School. “We feel proud and privileged that our faculty are among the profession’s most influential thinkers—and we’re excited to keep producing benchmark-setting research in 2021.”
