Fischell Institute Now Accepting Fellowship Applications


The Robert E. Fischell Institute for Biomedical Devices is inviting applicants to this year's Mpowering the State Student Entrepreneurship Fellowship. This one- to two-year fellowship will help transition innovative medical device projects into great business ideas by utilizing various programs offered through the University of Maryland, including the Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Bioengineering program.

This fellowship is open to graduating seniors from engineering, the sciences, the School of Pharmacy, the School of Medicine, and related STEM programs. Interested juniors, sophomores, and freshmen are also encouraged to inquire. Benefits include enrollment in the Master of Engineering in Bioengineering program, a fellowship stipend, access to dedicated lab space and material support for prototype development, and connections with industry/regulatory professionals.
 
Phase I of the application process is due February 28th. Candidates who have questions about the process or the deadline should contact Dr. Martha Wang, martha@umd.edu
 
Those interested in applying should view the program flyer for additional information. Applicants to the Student Entrepreneurship Fellowship do not need to apply to the M.Eng. program ahead of submitting their fellowship application. The application is available online: http://go.umd.edu/ff2018
