Clark School hosts Fall 2001 Whiting-Turner Lecture Series

For seven years, the Whiting-Turner Contracting Company has sponsored the Whiting-Turner Business and Entrepreneurial Lecture Series. As in the past,

this year's speakers reflect real-life perspective on issues that are critical to success in business today, whether you are employed in a large corporation or small entrepreneurial company.

Engineering students, faculty, alumni and the university community are invited to attend a reception to meet and mingle with the speakers prior to the lecture held in the Engineering Building-Glenn Martin Hall Lobby at 4:30 p.m.

The fall lecture, Making Money The Old-Fashioned Way, will begin November 7, 2001 at 5:00 p.m. in Room 1202.

Guest speakers, Ginger E. Lew, CEO and Managing Director of Telecommunications Development Fund (TDF) and Robert Cerbone, Associate at TDF and alumnus of the Clark School of Engineering and Smith School of Business will speak about the venture capital industry, including:

  • Recent trends in the industry

  • What venture capitalists look for in a business plan and

  • How they evaluate businesses

  • Future investment and job prospects

A reception will follow from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Lobby area.
