New Research and Innovation Seed Grant Program AnnouncedThe University of Maryland, College Park, and University of Maryland, Baltimore, have announced a two-pronged joint Research and Innovation Seed Grant Program to promote collaboration between the campuses. The program is a part of the new MPowering the State effort. The initiative seeks to foster creative teams of investigators working across disciplinary boundaries and campuses; support new research and basic science pertaining to future health care improvements and technologies; and stimulate submission of innovative research proposals to federal, public and private funding agencies. There are two categories of seed grants -- basic/early-stage translational research and complex therapeutics (in conjunction with the Institute for Bioscience and Biotechnology Research in Shady Grove).
