New Certificate Available for Technology Entrepreneurs

The Clark School's Maryland Technology Enterprise Institute (Mtech) and the Office of Advanced Engineering Education (OAEE) are jointly offering a new, four-course Graduate Certificate in Engineering in Technology Ventures and Innovation to provide a unique opportunity for technology innovators.

"Many of the engineers we have seen exposed to technology venturing and innovation best practices become successful entrepreneurs", says James V. Green, associate director of entrepreneurship education at Mtech. "Working with either independent startup companies or new ventures within existing companies, engineers and technologists can take what they learn in our program and make an impact as an entrepreneur."

This is Mtech's first graduate-level certificate. Green said the new program is a pairing of Mtech's specialization expertise in entrepreneurship education with OAEE's track record in managing other certificate and degree programs for the Clark School.

The application deadline for the new program is August 15. More details are available online: www.advancedengineering.umd.edu/innovation
