Professor Bilal M. Ayyub, Civil and Environmental Engineering and ISR affiliate, has been awarded the 2024 Lifetime Achievement Outstanding Projects and Leaders (OPAL) Award in education by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). This distinguished honor recognizes Dr. Ayyub’s exemplary leadership, profound impact on civil engineering education, and dedication to advancing the field.

The OPAL Award stands as one of ASCE’s highest accolades, celebrating individuals who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to the civil engineering profession through innovation, leadership, and a sustained commitment to excellence. Dr. Ayyub’s recognition highlights his decades-long dedication to education, research, and practice in risk analysis, decision analysis, and systems engineering.
