FPE Alumna Continues to Climb the Corporate Ladder


Stacy (Niedhart) Welch (B.S. ‘97)  has been promoted to Vice President of Fire & Life Safety at Marriott International, Inc. In her new role, Welch will continue to partner with the Global Design Unit on executing Marriott’s global design standards for new build hotel projects, conversions, acquisitions, and renovations. Additionally, Welch will provide strategic oversight of the fire life safety inspection and training team for operating facilities. She also acts as the subject matter expert to the respective Continent Fire Life Safety Committees for compliance and education. Welch is a registered professional engineer (PE) and serves as a Commissioner of the Maryland State Fire Prevention Commission and was recently appointed as a Board member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
