New Venture Challenge Offers Students Cash, Prizes, for Best New Business Idea

$35,000 in prize money is up for grabs in the New Venture Challenge.
$35,000 in prize money is up for grabs in the New Venture Challenge.

Students with the best plans for a new company can compete for prizes in the Fifth Annual University of Maryland New Venture Challenge, sponsored by the Clark School's Maryland Technology Enterprise Institute. Teams compete for cash prizes and the chance to have their business plans evaluated, as well as opportunities for group and individual coaching and mentoring.

The competition is open to all University of Maryland undergraduate and graduate students. An information session on the New Venture Challenge will be held on February 4, from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. in Room 2460 A.V. Williams. Executive summaries are due February 14.
