OPEN ENROLLMENT INFORMATION FOR 2022 PLAN YEAR
Open Enrollment for the State Employee and Retiree Health Benefits and Wellness Program (the health benefits plan) will take place from October 18 through November 12, 2021 (5 PM EST) for the new plan year that begins on January 1, 2022.
Open Enrollment is an annual opportunity for faculty, staff, retirees, and benefits-eligible graduate assistants to make changes to/or enroll in health, dental, and pharmacy plans. Faculty and staff may also add eligible dependents to their coverage, remove ineligible dependents and enroll in a Health Care and or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA). No action is required if you wish to keep your current benefits, with the exception of FSA plans which must be renewed annually. If you participated in an FSA in 2021 and need an FSA in 2022, you must re-enroll by the end of Open Enrollment. Changes go into effect on January 1, 2022.
Enroll or Make Changes to Your Benefits
- Add/Remove a Dependent
- Change Benefit Plans
- Enroll/Re-Enroll Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
Employees/Retirees adding dependents during Open Enrollment must attach the dependent documentation (married – “certified” marriage certificate / child – birth certificate) to the SPS Benefits System Benefit Event. If you do not provide all required documentation by the close of Open Enrollment on Friday, November 12, 2021 (5 PM EST), the dependent(s) will be excluded from the coverage.
